It’s hot!

New to Mellow?

We specialize in cameras.
Taking photos. Shooting and editing video.
Portraits. Grad photos. Headshots. Events. Weddings. Engagements. Roofs.
If you need it photographed or filmed, we do it.

We specialize in ideas.
We love brainstorming. Writing. Researching.

Great art is intentional.
Even on a $300 budget, our team is spending free time thinking about your project.
We can’t help ourselves. It’s the curse of caring about what you do.

The founding principles of camera mastery and creativity scale up exponentially on the $3k and $30k projects.
We understand there are levels, and are willing to meet you where you’re at.
If your budget is $300, we’ll tell you what can be done with that.

If your budget is $30k – please message us – we have experience with large scale productions and expansive marketing strategy.

We’re careful to manage expectations.
We’re straight forward about deliverables and time available.
Most of our pricing models are spread around the website for lowest entry costs.
Complex projects scale up by hours and deliverables.

We’re good at what we do. Even a quick opportunistic photoshoot can produce amazing results. Sometimes that’s the best recipe.

We don’t want to waste your time, and we don’t want you to waste ours.
If we are going to take on project, we are going to take the time to do it right.

If you skimmed to the end, here’s a brief rundown.

Mellow is an Atlanta based media production company. We specialize in creativity.
Servicing businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists with quality photos, videos, and ideas.

August in Atlanta is not a great month for filming.

Sweaty. Sunsets at 8pm (I’m trying to eat dinner before 10pm).

But have no fear. September sessions are still available for booking. Message Mellow with dates and times for grad photos, headshots, personal branding, learning, or assistance with a project.

Professional Headshots

Individuals and teams. In our studio or on-site at your office. You pick the background, and we'll help with posing and styling.

Booking for yourself? Bring two friends or colleagues and split the session. Up to three people is $300 — that's $100 each, and everybody gets their own finished photo.

Booking for a team? We match the lighting and background across everyone, so nobody ends up looking like they were photographed at a different company.

We budget fifteen minutes a person and average four or more an hour. Some people are done in two minutes, some take twenty. Nobody gets rushed. Photos come back the next day.

We take care of our people. Once you've worked with us, you get a yearly session at 50% off — $50 a person instead of $100. Refresh the whole team or just the people who need one. Same lighting, same background, so a year from now your team page still looks like it was shot in one afternoon.

Urgent new hire sessions are available on request, at a discount as well.

Who is The Mellow Collective?

Our Story

The Mellow Collective assembles to create music videos for independent artists.

Our story began in 2018 when we smuggled a rental camera into Arkansas to film Stuart by MaxD. We joke about that because rental EQ from The University of Alabama was not supposed to leave the state. Artistic college kids having fun.

Fast forward to 2022 and the US was opening back up. We like to travel, so we connected with an artist living in Indiana and hit the road. The Life for Me was filmed, and our love for making music videos was rekindled. We haven’t stopped since.

Since 2022 we’ve been traveling across the Southeastern US filming music videos, BTS, and taking photos.

North Carolina. Missouri. Tennessee. Back to North Carolina. Florida. Arkansas.

We started coloring them on a map, and Mellow Across America was born.
Mellow Across America is our initiative to film a music video in all 50 states.
You can explore our travels so far on the Creative page.

Our passion is for helping artists create, produce, and publish their art. That takes many forms – wild photography, improving online presence, teaching how to produce.

Our story is unique because Mellow core members are active professionals in their fields. Media production. Marketing. Graphic design. Editing. Real estate.

We like making music videos, but we spend our time doing work that pays our rent.
So we got really good at it.

We spend hours every day mastering craft and acquiring taste for what’s good, what’s possible, and how to get visions made. Then we take those skills and come together to make music videos every year. Simple as that. The Mellow Collective.

What does that look like day to day?

Great question. The reality is we do professional work for businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists. Creating media that get posted on socials, websites, and ads.

We’ve worked in fashion, roofing, welding, restaurants, medical sales, education. The list goes on…

My most interesting 12 hour turnaround was photographing $1000 boutique dresses in a castle at sunset to the NEXT DAY climbing in the mud while filming crawl space installation. -Paul

For businesses we take headshots and brand videography/photography.
For entrepreneurs we do Online Presence Overhaul (OPO) and publishing strategy.
For artists we take photos for album art and Instagram posts.

Unified team headshots. Profile pictures that land jobs. Quality visuals with music and sound design by trained ears.

We do a lot of different things. If it has anything to do with a camera, we can do it.

The Approach

We do a lot more than camera work. We problem solve and aim to produce the best work we can make with the budget and time we have. That’s our promise.

Your promise is to pay us :)

The real edge for Mellow is the collective of creative professionals who collaborate on projects. We have team members on call for when the scope requires deep work from experienced people.

Our talent ranges from media production to web design, graphic design, SEO/GEO frameworks, digital ads, non-digital marketing. The list goes on again.

If we can’t do it, we know someone who can.

The production is focused in Atlanta, but the network is inter-state.
If you have the budget, we’ll travel anywhere you want to go.

Most of our time is spent helping the good people of Atlanta capture great photos and videos.

Paul is the resident Atlanta media and marketing specialist. He spends his days taking pictures, writing, and playing music.

He’s also the Creative Director for Mellow, and wrote every word you read on this website.

Paul takes all of the photos, and films all of the video in Atlanta. He’ll travel anywhere if you pay him, and this is weird talking about myself in the third person…

Hi I’m Paul.

Yes, that's a reference to the three eyed monkey from Nickelodeon.

I’m a writer, producer, cinematographer, photographer, editor, musician – I’m the reason Mellow does a lot of different things.

I’ve been making videos with my friends since I was 10. My first camera was my parent’s VHS recorder that I filmed action movies with my toys facing off against my sister’s Barbies.

I’ve always been fascinated with cameras. I blame my sprinkle of ‘tism.

My first real job was taking photos for the front page of the local newspaper. I felt like Spider-Man.

Somewhere deep on the internet you can find a photo I took at a circus that was nominated for a national award. The real reward was the stack of newspapers I keep on my shelf with all the pictures I took on the front page.

Paul Rasmussen - Log Cabin Democrat

I studied film and business at The University of Alabama, and while degrees look cool on the wall, I’ve been learning on the job for over a decade.

I’ve written a 70 page feature film. I’ve DP’d and cam-op’d  a 82 minute feature film. My pictures are used on business websites. I’ve written and produced an album.

DP = Director of Photography. They are in charge of the visual look of a film
Cam Op = Camera Operator. They work the camera and frame the shots
there’s some nuance there, but that’s a quick definition for the jargon

I’m a writer for The Blob Weekly. A Substack covering entertainment, culture, and sports that I contribute to with my friends.

I teach guitar, piano, and music at Guitar Center in Atlanta on Briarwood. You can find me there playing with beat pads and synthesizers in between lessons. Come stop by and say hi.

I care about creating quality work. I’m curious. I like to understand the why, and be intentional in decisions, especially when money is involved.

I’m also carefree. I love the Earth. I like to go on walks with my dog and Becca. I like to jump in lakes and explore.

I’m an American. I work hard. I make money so I can do cool stuff. Simple as that.

I spent 5 years in the professional marketing space at an agency managing the production of all video and photos. The company was small, but worked with 100’s of clients across the country providing connected marketing architecture – Dave Creek Media.

I’ll mention them by name because I believe in the quality of work they do, and the people are an integral part to my story. I spent 40 hours every week for 4 years planning, producing, shooting, editing, and publishing over 400 projects. I was hands-on involved in 100 shoots every year from 2022-2025. It was exhausting.

But it’s the reason I sit here today building websites, running ads, improving SEO/GEO ranking, and taking kickass quality photos. I was surrounded by it, doing it every day. It fell on me and a small crew to go out into the world and film for 30+ companies every quarter. That was the job.

SEO = Search Engine Optimization. Ranking on Google Business and getting reviews.
GEO = Generative Engine Optimization. Appearing in AI search queries.

I made friends. I made mistakes. I learned how to install systems and people in the right place to get the job done well.

That brings us to 2026. We packed up our life, and I packed up my equipment to move to Atlanta. An entrepreneur with a dream to pay the bills with his skills.

When you Message Mellow you’re messaging me. I read every email, respond to every text, and stay up late scrutinizing every word you read. Every frame you see. Every photo you like.

A testament to what I believe.

Put good into the world, and the world will be good to you.
Keep trying until something gives.
The only thing holding you back is yourself, and money.
Good Vibes Only.

No mystery

  • Up to two hours of production, in one session.

  • Four hours of storage, culling, and editing.

  • Ten finished photos, delivered next day.

Two hours is the ceiling, not a target we're trying to hit. If we're going through the effort of scheduling a shoot, we'd rather not be rushed — so the time is there if the shoot needs it.

That $300 covers two hours of photo or one hour of video. (Video takes more time to edit)

Our General Rule:
One hour of filming video = 4 hours of post-production (coloring, assembling, exporting, etc.)
One hour of taking pictures = 2 hours of post-production (culling, organizing, cropping, etc.)

We'd rather you know that now than find out on the invoice.

That's the floor. Everything scales up from there, and you can do the math yourself before you ever message us.

What does $300 get you?

In an hour, we expect to get 10 really good photos. How do we ensure that?

It’s a numbers game.

To get 10 great photos, we take 1000. About 100 are in focus and decent. 10 are worth your money.

We take 1000 photos to capture the 1%.

That's why the first ten selects are the product. If you want to see the rest, the full gallery is another hundred dollars. All paid-for photo deliverables include a web-friendly JPG and a PNG at full crop.

You purchased that photo, it is yours to use however you'd like.

Additional photos

Photos come back the next day. Short-form video comes back in 48 hours. Longer projects take longer — graphics, effects, and polish add real time. We'll agree on a timeline before we start rather than guess at one now.

Booking is simple. Buying the base rate tells us you're serious. We put your date on the calendar and lock in the details.

We will decide during discovery if you’ll need additional time on set, editing, or other services. Quotes for scaled projects are billed 72 hours before the first day of production.

Not sure you're ready to spend $3,000 on a project? Spend $300 first. Up to two hours on set, four hours of editing, and we'll make the best deliverable we can with that budget.

If you like the style, we go bigger. If not, you still walk away with something you can use.

Tell us what to make. Make it with us. Or let us teach you.

Every project at Mellow has three paths.

Tell us what to make.

You already know what you want. Bring us the brief and the budget and we'll execute it — no meetings, no discovery process, no strategy deck.

A reference image and a date is genuinely enough to get started. We show up, we shoot what you asked for, and you have it the next day.

This is the fastest and cheapest way to work with us, and there's nothing wrong with it. Starts at $300.

Make it with us.

You know something needs to exist but not exactly what. We sit down first and think through the edit and the purpose for the photo or video to exist.

What's it for? Where's it going? Who's it talking to?

Then we shoot to that answer instead of guessing at it. Costs more up front and usually saves money on the back end, because we're not paying to redo work that missed. Strategy sessions are $100 an hour, or $300 for four weekly sessions across a month.

Let us teach you.

You want to run this yourself eventually.

Instead of Mellow handling post-production, we sit with you — usually online — and talk you through how to do it: editing photos and video, social scheduling, automation, whatever's in your way.

Once you know how, you pay us for production and manage post yourself with full creative control. This isn't for everyone. But if it's what you're looking for, it's honestly what we prefer. $100 an hour.

Whichever route, you always get to choose what gets done.

Mellow Roots

Where we started.

In 2018, Mellow started making music videos. Our taste acquired in the process is the same craft we bring to every headshot, brand film, and drone job.

It's still our creative outlet. We take those projects on selectively. The professional work pays the bills. This is why the professional work is good.
